The pavilion at Walters Park is the perfect location for a family reunion or other celebration too large for the back yard and is available for reservation. Or, perhaps the smaller pavilion at Green Street Park will fit the bill.
The skate park at Delaware River Park offers a place for skaters to enjoy their sport. In addition, other playgrounds and passive parks for children of all ages dot the town, and the municipal outdoor pool at Walters Park provides summertime fun for the whole family. The beautiful gazebo at Shappell Park has been the site of weddings for many happy couples.

Youth sports activities with multiple volunteer opportunities abound. Soccer, softball, baseball, basketball, football (flag and tackle), wrestling, cheerleading and more are open to the community. The Recreation Department offers an annual outdoor Summer Playground Program during summer mornings. For families who need a more structured program, the Firth Youth Center offers an annual Summer Day Camp.Phillipsburg offers all of these recreation opportunities and more.

Located at 108 Anderson Street near Walters Park, the Center offer programs for youth through adults. Current programs include:After School Program with homework help and tutoring, supervised recreation and education activities for elementary aged children, and volunteer opportunities for adults.
High School Program of recreation activities for grades 9 through 12 including weight room, basketball, games and more.
Summer Day Camp offers a nine-week daily summer program with hours to accommodate working parents. Swimming, games, trips, special presentations, and many more supervised activities for children ages 6 through 14. Jr. counselor training available.
Sports programs are also held in cooperation with the Phillipsburg Recreation Department.
Adult Programs in areas of interest are available. Some include ceramics, basketball, volleyball, and fitness.
