Storm & Power Line Safety Reminder – 9.4.2026

STORM & POWER LINE SAFETY REMINDER

In light of the strong winds and dangerous storms we have experienced—and with the possibility of additional severe weather—we are asking all residents to please remain alert and use caution.

🌳 If you see downed trees, limbs, or branches that are on or near power lines, please DO NOT attempt to move or remove them yourself. Keep a safe distance and report the issue directly to JCP&L/FirstEnergy so the appropriate crews can assess and address the situation.

📞 JCP&L: 1-800-662-3115

💻 Tree and service issues can also be reported online through:
https://www.firstenergycorp.com/service_requests.html#panel-2

Please remember these important safety tips:

• Always assume a downed power line is live and dangerous.
• Stay away from downed wires and anything they may be touching, including trees, branches, fences, or vehicles.
• Never attempt to remove a tree or branch that is touching or close to a power line.
• Keep children and pets away from damaged trees, wires, and utility equipment.
• If you encounter an immediate life-safety emergency, call 911.

Reporting tree and power-line issues directly to JCP&L helps ensure they are routed to the appropriate utility crews as quickly as possible.

Please stay safe, Phillipsburg, and continue to look out for one another during severe weather.
